Emerson @ 3 months

It seems like only yesterday when we were photographing Emerson's newborn pictures. Now she's 3 months old and holding herself up! Alyssa and Dan had purchased a series of photo shoots from me so we could capture and her first year of development- newborn, 3,6,9 & 12 months. I think we got some really cute shots at this shoot and I'm looking forward to photographing her again!

Take a look at those baby blues!

Caroline + Carson

Last fall I put on a charity Girls Night Out event to raise money for an organization called Kool Kidz. Kool Kidz is an organization that does wonderful things for children with disabilities. The Coburn's had won a free photoshoot session given away at the Kool Kidz event. What made giving to the Coburn's even more special was knowing that it was founded on a cause I believe in. Turned out as well, that I had photographed two of their friends families for the past several years and the Coburn's had seen many of the Christmas cards we had made for them.
When we photographed Caroline and Carson we wanted to do a wide variety of things with them. We had a lot of fun from letting them rock out in their Rockstar outfits in studio to having Caroline change into her equestirian attire and heading to the old barn for some shots.

These kids make my job so easy! They were very well behaved and awesome!

Lucy White was born July 29th, 2009 at 1:30PM in Northside Hospital.
What a sweetheart!
I was very excited to be part of this special day for Brian and Beth largely because I've had a relationship with them for the past 2 years after photographing the birth of their first child, Garrett. It was an honor photograph the first breathes of Lucy... Brian called me up, just after Noon and had me head on down. I was amazed to find a smiling, giggling, happy Beth when I arrived at hospital. The Dr. came in about 20 minutes after I arrived and told her he was going to get her ready to push. ONE push, 20 seconds later, Lucy pops out! Even the Dr. couldn't believe how quick this delivery was. Later, I told Beth that I would not tell any of the other mothers on the floor how easy she had. :)
I love this moment above between Mom and Lucy. Lucy couldn't keep her eyes off her! Mom looked fantastic for just being in labor... she made it look so easy!

What is always so special about capturing a birth on camera for me is witnessing pure love and joy- all the emotions and special moments are so real. Every picture has power- from Lucy's first breath, to her first bath, her introduction to the family and their when son Garrett was brought into the room to meet his new baby sister. Photographing a birth is photojournalism at it's best and capturing all the moments as they happen.

Our New Arrival

Thursday, September 25, 2008

Finally we are back blogging!!!

Having our studio hit by a tornado and then having to move our studio during the heart of wedding season was a challenge. But we are now running smoothly and we wanted to let everyone that has not seen our new studio to have a look. Our new studio is only two miles from the heart of historical Roswell and it sits on five acres. As you can see, not only do we have a wonderful indoor location for studio shots, but there are so many places to shoot on the property. We have our red barn, creek, huge rocks, a giant field (my daughter calls it the meadow), gravel drive lined with a black fence, and real fruit bearing pear trees, plus much more. You are just going to have to come and see it at your next shoot. Hope you are as excited as we are.

See you soon!
